The requirements for the detection of harmful gases in confined spaces need to be met in advancegas detectorPerform the test. Before personnel enter the confined space, the composition of harmful gases in the confined space must be detected at a distance.
Tests should be performed in the following order:
(1) Inhale oxygen to detect the oxygen concentration at that time;
(2) Inhale flammable gases to detect changes in flammable gases;
(3) Inhale toxic gas to detect whether the concentration of toxic gas is lower than the allowable exposure pel under OSHA rules. In confined spaces, averagetoxic gasIt is H2S and Co, and other toxic compounds are not included in it.
It is important to take samples at the top, middle, and bottom of the confined space to detect the concentration of various gases or vapors. Some gases are lighter than air (such as methane and flammable gas) and can be collected in the upper part of the confined space; Some gases are heavier than air (e.g., H2S) and can be found at the bottom of confined spaces; Some gases are almost as heavy as air (such as CO) and can be found in confined spaces.
When probing confined spaces, attention should also be paid to the method. In confined spaces, gas detectors must be used for relevant detections. Only after relevant testing can the working environment be guaranteed.
