Honeywell Wins "2009 CSR Cooperation Award" - News

On November 19, Honeywell and Safe Kids China were awarded the 2009 Corporate Social Responsibility Cooperation Award by the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai in recognition of their five-year partnership to help nearly 500,000 children in more than 600 primary schools in China educate about safety.
The event item that won this award is the "Safe Children, Happy Families" safety education campaign launched by Honeywell in 2005 with the Global Child Safety Network - China.
Honeywell's child safety education is an item under the company's global Homebuilding Program. The Homebuilding Program is Honeywell's global corporate social responsibility fund. Honeywell's Homebuilding Program provides outstanding items to communities in five areas, including: natural sciences and math education, home safety and security, home construction and charitable relief, habitat conservation, and humanitarian assistance.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai organized the awards to recognize outstanding CSR items. The results of the 2009 selection were announced today at the American Chamber of Commerce's Fifth Annual Corporate Social Responsibility Forum in Shanghai.
"This award should be credited to Honeywell employees and volunteers from the Global Child Safety Network for making this event so successful to its current scale," said Dali Shen, President and CEO of Honeywell China & India. Safety has always been an important brand commitment for Honeywell. As part of Honeywell's Homes program, we have been working with the Global Child Safety Network on the Safe and Happy Families for Children item for nearly five years. I am honored to work together and Honeywell's world-leading safety technology to contribute to the safety of communities and families in China." We are also grateful to the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai for this honor. "The item covers primary schools in Chengdu, Chongqing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Tianjin and Xi'an. Honeywell and the Global Educational Safety Network China also set up a special course in Xiushui Town, Sichuan Province, which was struck by the 2008 earthquake. The lesson, which teaches elementary school students how to protect themselves from an earthquake, is being held at Honeywell Union Elementary School, which Honeywell and its employees helped rebuild, which was officially inaugurated in May this year
