
Shanghai, China, May 12, 2014 — Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced the official opening of its annual UniSim Design Challenge. It will be divided into three different regions: the Americas, Asia Pacific and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), and a series of process control design competitions will be held to attract and recognize young design elites from all over the world.
Participants in each region will receive free technical support from HoneywellUniSim® Design simulation software at their local university or college to encourage innovative items. Participating students will use the UniSim® Design solution to design a new model to solve practical process problems as prescribed. The winner of the contest will win a chance to attend the annual user conference in their region.
The Honeywell User Conference provides students with an in-depth understanding of the process industry, providing them with an excellent opportunity and platform to showcase their talents and innovative items and build relationships with attendees and potential employers. Student mentors will also attend the conference and receive a certificate from Honeywell's world-class Automation AcademyTrainingCourse place. Transportation, accommodation and registration fees for the winners will be borne by Honeywell.

Competition Rules:
All entries must use HoneywellUniSim® design software, which will be provided free of charge to university professors.
The deadlines for submission of applications by region are April 25 in the Americas, June 27 in Asia Pacific, and September 30 in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
