Innovative area monitoring
Dräger X-zone 5000 transforms the Dräger personal gas detection device X-am 5000 into an innovative zone monitoring device for a wide range of applications. Patented technology for higher safety – can be carried around for personal gas detection, as well as placed in areas with potential gas hazards for area monitoring.
Clear alarm – 360°
The glowing green LED light indicates that the gas is safe and clean, and it is clearly visible even from a distance. When a hazardous gas is detected, the LED light changes from green to red, warning with clear light, and a loud evacuation alarm. The design of the air path of the Dräger X-zone 5000 allows gas to diffuse into the instrument from all directions.
Wireless fence
Up to 25 Dräger X-zone 5000s can be automatically connected to each other to form a wireless fence. This interconnected area monitoring device can ensure the safety of larger areas. In the event of a gas alarm, the device transmits the alarm signal to all devices in the wireless fence and issues a sub-alarm. Different from the red main alarm, the sub-alarm emits a green/red light, allowing the on-site personnel to quickly identify the alarm device and the device that triggers the alarm.
Zone monitoring – configurable pumps
An optional built-in pump equipment provides continuous zone monitoring. This is for continuous monitoring of confined spaces and hard-to-access areas – up to 45 meters (150 feet) away.
Alarm connection to external devices
With a passive alarm connection, Dräger X-zone 5000 devices can also trigger linked devices such as sirens, signals or traffic lights. In addition, wireless fence signals and alarm signals can be transmitted together to the control room – for a wider range of applications.

Unlike individual gas detectors, area monitoring devices are usually placed in explosion hazard zones, even when a gas alarm is issued. Therefore, it is important that the device is certified in Explosion Hazard Zone 0. The certification of Dräger X-zone 5000 ensures continuous use in explosive atmospheres.
Up to 120 hours of continuous use
Two different types of rechargeable batteries are available for a variety of applications: a 12Ah battery with a total weight of only 7kg (15lbs) and a continuous operation of 60 hours; Optional 24Ah battery with a total weight of 10 kg (22 lbs) for 120 hours of use — equivalent to a week's work.
It is suitable for industrial safety monitoring and on-site inspection scenarios.
