Honeywell XNX XNX-AMAV-NNIV1 – MPD IR methane 0–100 %LEL, mV, ATEX, Aluminium, M25

XNX-AMAV-NNIV1 is a factory-configured Honeywell XNX with MPD infrared methane 0–100 %LEL, mV personality, ATEX / IECEx (INMETRO on selected MPD SKUs), 4 × M25, LM25 aluminium (painted), 4–20 mA HART only (no option board), no local HART port. It is the SKU for gas-transmission compounds and biogas roofs where catalytic poison or oxygen-free streams rule out CB1.

Why this personality / sensor

Methane is lighter than air and rises to roof vents. Dual-beam MPD IR does not need oxygen and ignores silicones. Mount high, under eaves or at the compressor-hall ridge, and keep the optical window out of wash-down.

Personality and replaceable parts

XNX-AMAV-NNIV1 uses the mV personality (MPD catalytic / MPD IR) board and mates with Honeywell MPD catalytic bead or MPD infrared sensors. Factory-fitted with MPD IR methane 0–100 %LEL. Spares live on product-3991. Do not substitute Sensepoint XCD cartridges on XNX.

Typical applications

City-gate stations, LNG boil-off rooms and anaerobic-digester roofs need a methane-specific IR point. XNX holds the trip while operators stay outside the classified shed.

Installation and wiring

Wall-mount XNX-AMAV-NNIV1 (LM25 aluminium (painted), approx. 2.8 kg) on a rigid stand sized for that mass. This SKU uses 4 × M25 entries—glands must match; do not retap XNX-AMAV-NNIV1. Land XNX-AMAV-NNIV1 4–20 mA HART per the loop drawing; relays/Modbus/FFB exist only on the matching option board. Magnetic-wand menus on the XNX-AMAV-NNIV1 lid stay non-intrusive. Park the XNX-AMAV-NNIV1 methane IR at the ridge and out of wash-down.

FAQ

Install?
Torque, entries and earthing per the manual.
Alu/SS?
Choose by corrosion/weight; enclosure digit is in the P/N.
Calibration?
Per fitted sensor and target gas.
Why not use catalytic CB1 instead of XNX-AMAV-NNIV1 for methane?
If the stream can be inert or silicone-contaminated, the pellistor goes to sleep. XNX-AMAV-NNIV1 IR keeps working at 0 % oxygen.
Vs XCD?
XNX emphasises a universal transmitter platform; XCD is often sold as integrated configs.
