Honeywell XNX XNX-UTSV-FHCB1 – MPD catalytic 0–100 %LEL, mV, UL, 316SS, 3/4" NPT

XNX-UTSV-FHCB1 is a factory-configured Honeywell XNX gas detector: mV personality, MPD catalytic bead 0–100 %LEL, UL / cUL, 4 × 3/4" NPT, 316 stainless steel, Foundation Fieldbus + 4–20 mA HART, local HART port on the transmitter. Specify it for mixed hydrocarbon LEL points where infrared windows would fog or the stream is not methane/propane-specific.

Why this personality / sensor

A poison-resistant MPD pellistor sees combustion heat across a wide hydrocarbon mix, including species an IR filter misses. It needs oxygen and hates silicones. Mount above light-gas releases and below heavy vapours; keep silicone sealants off the sinter.

Personality and replaceable parts

XNX-UTSV-FHCB1 uses the mV personality (MPD catalytic / MPD IR) board and mates with Honeywell MPD catalytic bead or MPD infrared sensors. Factory-fitted with MPD catalytic 0–100 %LEL. Spares live on product-3991. Do not substitute Sensepoint XCD cartridges on XNX.

Typical applications

Pump rooms, filling gantries and compressor packages still standardise on catalytic LEL because the gas slate is mixed. XNX holds 4–20 mA HART into the ESD matrix; magnetic non-intrusive calibration keeps the flameproof lid closed.

Installation and wiring

Wall-mount XNX-UTSV-FHCB1 (316 stainless steel, approx. 5.0 kg) on a rigid stand sized for that mass. This SKU uses 4 × 3/4" NPT entries—glands must match; do not retap XNX-UTSV-FHCB1. Land XNX-UTSV-FHCB1 4–20 mA HART per the loop drawing; relays/Modbus/FFB exist only on the matching option board. Magnetic-wand menus on the XNX-UTSV-FHCB1 lid stay non-intrusive. Keep silicones off the XNX-UTSV-FHCB1 pellistor; light hydrocarbons high, heavy vapours low.

FAQ

Local HART?
Depends on the local-HART digit — do not confuse with other options.
Why is XNX-UTSV-FHCB1 NPT instead of M25?
XNX-UTSV-FHCB1 is the UL/cUL body and ships 3/4" NPT. Do not tap M25 on this lid—order ATEX sibling XNX-AMSV-FHCB1 if metric glands are mandatory.
Which line is XNX-UTSV-FHCB1?
Honeywell Sensepoint XNX universal gas transmitter.
